Transitional Living Apartments
The Transitional Living Apartments is a residential support service that the Human Resources Center provides in conjunction with the Wayne County Mental Health Program. The TLA Program provides support for Wayne County residents who are returning to the community after years of hospitalization. The focus of the program is to teach skills that residents lack but which are critical to their future independent living. There are four apartments in the building that houses the TLA Program. Each of the three residents in the Program has their own apartment with staff occupying the fourth apartment. Twenty-four hour support is available with staff providing Crisis Intervention and teaching Life Skills. The expectation is that residents in the TLA Program will transition from the hospital to independent community living within a one to two year period.
