Vocational and Community Options
The Goals of the Vocational and Community Options program are to provide the participants with the skills they will need to: get and hold a job, participate in their community and to succeed in daily living. Students are shown that they can learn new skills and succeed at skills they may have struggled at in the past. Building to completion of the program and transitioning into another HRC program, Community Integrated Employment, which will provide job coaching and support.
The program is individualized for each participant, concentrating on the needs and interests of each student. The length of the program depends completely on the development of each individual. Students learn Employability skills and Life skills in a small classroom setting with a six to one student /instructor ratio. As well as classroom studies VOCOP takes participants into the community to tour local businesses, do volunteer work, network and learn about the resources available to them in their community.
